Description
This online course provides the conceptual framework for understanding what builds and maintains a good clinician-patient/client relationship. Module 1 gives the learner an outline of key codes and historical developments which have shaped our modern-day comprehension the clinician-patient relationship. Commencing with an exploration of human dignity and the principle of autonomy, Module 2 will impart the essential qualities (trust, compassion and truth-telling) for establishing and maintaining a good clinician-patient relationship. Module 3 will be discussed how undue influence and paternalism undermines the clinician-patient relationship and hence why these ought to be avoided. On successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to understand the requirements for a good clinician-patient/client relation.

Assessment for this course is via quizzes at the end of each module.

This online course can be taken at one’s own pace, and at completion the successful student will be issued with a certificate which can serve as evidence for CPD.

Note: This certificate will contain your profession (e.g. Medical Doctor, Registered Nurse, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Physiotherapist, Ethics Officer, etc.). When purchasing, there will be a rubric to fill stating your profession. Please make sure to fill it correctly as your certificate will present this information as per how you provide it.
