This online course will provide a thorough introduction to health care ethics/bioethics. Module 1 shall give the learner an outline of key people and events that have shaped bioethics. Module 2 will survey a number of different ethical theories commonly employed in health care context, in addition to reviewing critical concepts, namely pertaining to human dignity. Considering the influence of Principlism in modern health care ethics, Model 3 is dedicated at exploring its four principles of Autonomy, Beneficence, Nonmaleficence and Justice. On successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to comprehend which ethical framework is being used in health care discussions and determine which principle(s) provide worthy input in bioethical discourse.

Assessment for this course is via quizzes at the end of each module. 

This online course can be taken at one’s own pace, and at completion the successful student will be issued with a certificate which can serve as evidence for CPD.

Note: This certificate will contain your profession (e.g. Medical Doctor, Registered Nurse, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Physiotherapist, Ethics Officer, etc.). When purchasing, there will be a rubric to fill stating your profession. Please make sure to fill it correctly as your certificate will present this information as per how you provide it.
